New thoughts,,,
At the beginning of each new year after I have filled in my new diary or calendar with all the birthdays - yes I still use an actual paper one as well as digital ( always forget to look at them on my phone). After I’ve done that I start on the NEW NOTEBOOK. For some reason people love giving me note books or sketchbooks and I must admit I love stationery so nearly always have one to spare. This year I was lucky enough to be given a lovely notebook/wellness journal but instead of treating like it should be (more about that at a later date), I’m using it for my usual ‘pick me up’ at this time of year.
I like to write down everything I like, things l would like to do, places I would like to visit (plenty of those this year), recipes, things I like to make or cook. just things that make me happy. I also cut out things from magazines or catalogues ( yes I am so old school), scraps of fabric, bits of colour anything that I fancy that inspires me .Keep it as a record to refer to when you are feeling in need of inspiration and keep adding to it throughout the year. I’m planning to re do our garden so will be putting lots of ideas for that in, scraps of information, colours, types of plants - I love Abigail Ahern’s garden where she brings the indoors outside and uses her garden all year round.
Even though we have Pinterest, Instagram and a wealth of online resources, sometimes its just good to have something tangible to look at to inspire - a bit like the difference between reading on a kindle or an actual book - so much nicer to sometimes turn the actual pages.
Try it - it can be a nice reference guide or just a reminder of things that are good in life - and at the moment we all need that….
